Knob Noster State Park (map)

A mixture of prairie grasses and widely spaced trees form a park like

savanna landscape at this park.  Pin Oak Slough Natural Area is a

forested oxbow slough that forms a small wetland along Clearfork

Creek.  The 3,567 acre park features a nature center with exhibits, 

several small lakes, Camp Shawnee and Camp Bobwhite.

Harry S. Truman State Park (map)

Surrounded by water on three sides, the park encompassed the 

1,440 acre tip of a peninsula the juts into Truman Lake.  In this 

part of Missouri, the prairies of the Osage Plains meet the rugged 

forests of the Ozark Hills.  This location gives the park a wide 

variety of natural landscapes with Water Recreation activities.  It 

offers swimming, boating, fishing, campgrounds, a swimming 

beach, boat ramps and marinas. A great lake and fun for all.
