Amidon Memorial C.A.

Located in both Bollinger and Madison Counties.  The main

entrance is in Madison County, East of Fredericktown on Hwy
J, south on Hwy W, then East on County Road 208.  The 1,632
acre area is mostly forestland and contains a 2.5 mile stretch
of the Castor river (5 acres for fishing).  Duchesne Access lies
within the area.  Cedar Glades hiking trail is 1 mile long,
and natural areas of interest include Castor River Shut-ins
Natural Area and 65 acres of granite glades.

Castor River C.A.

Consisting of several tracts.  The main tract is West of Marble
Hill on Hwy 34.  The area lies on both sides of the highway.
This 9,122 acre area is nearly all forestland and is home to
Blue Pond Natural Area (the deepest natural pond in Missouri).
Other natural features of interest include some dry sink holes
and a 1.5 acre fen.

Clubb Creek C.A.

Totaling 631 acres the area is made up of eight tracts located
South West of Marble Hill, primarily along Hwy's PP and 51.

Dark Cypress Swamp C.A.

5 miles West of Advance on Hwy C.  This 470 acre area extends
along a 1.5 acre mile stretch of the Castor River (9 acres for
fishing).  Two hundred and twenty acres are forested, and the
rest is cropland.

Duck Creek C.A.

Two tracts.  The main entrance is 6 miles South of Zalma on
Hwy 51.  This 6,234 acre area is noted for its 1,800 acre lake.
Suitable for fishing, the lake has four boat ramps and six
fishing jetties, some of which are wheelchair accessible.

Hawn Access

7 miles North West of Marble Hill on Hwy 51, then 1.5 miles
West on Hwy OO, then right 1.25 miles on an unnamed gravel
road.

Little Whitewater C.A.

5 miles West of Patton on Hwy 72, then 2.5 miles North on
Hwy HH, then 2 miles East on Gravel Road 916.  This is an
80 acre forest.

Sank C.A.

8 miles North of Zalma on Hwy 51.  It is composed of 90 acres
of forestland and about 28 acres of cropland and old pastures.

Sweetgum Access

North of Zalma on Hwy 51, North on Hwy H, then 1.5 miles
West on County Road 708.  This is 161 acres with a boat 
ramp on the Castor River.

Butler County

Big Cane C.A.

Two tracts.  The largest tract is East of Neelyville on Hwy 142,
2 miles South on Hwy EE, 1 mile right on County Road 269, 
then .5 mile left on County Road 276.  Big Cane Creek flows
2 miles through this 2,154 acre forested area.

Mac and Zelma Carmichael State Forest

South East of Neelyville off Hwy EE.  At the end of EE, turn
East and travel 1 mile on County Road 260, then South on
County Road 263.  This is a 40 acre forest.

Coon Island C.A.

South East of Poplar Bluff on Hwy 53, then 8 miles South on
Hwy HH to County Road 224.  This is a 3,1533 acre area with
two boat ramps on the Black River.  Six miles of the river flows
through the area.

Corkwood C.A.

.5 mile West of Neelyville on Hwy 142.  This 434 acre area
contains a wetland habitat (3 acres) for the corkwood plant,
and the rest of the area is forestland.

Harviell Access

3.5 miles South of Poplar Bluff on hwy 67, and 2.5 miles
South on County Road 321.  This is a 35 acre area with a boat
ramp on Cane Creek.

Otter Slough

West of Dexter on Hwy 60, then 10 miles South on Hwy ZZ,
in Stoddard County.  This is a 4,863 acre area on the St.
Francis River and also home to Otter Lake, a 250 acre body
of water suitable for fishing.  Natural area include Bradyville
Hardwoods (129 acres of bottomland hardwoods) and Otter
Slough Natural Area (20 acres).  There is a picnic area and a
1.5 mile hiking trail through the Beaver Pond Area.

Poplar Bluff/Stephen J. Sun C.A.

2 miles East of Poplar Bluff on U.S. Business 60, then 3.5
miles North on Hwy NN.  When this road becomes gravel,
watch for the first gravel road on the right marked 546 and
go .5 mile East to the area.  This 1,172 acre area is composed
of five tracts and includes Carpenter Lake (6 acres) and the
80 acre Poplar Bluff Forest Natural Area.

University Forest C.A.

Five tracts.  The main tract is 15 miles north of Poplar Bluff
on Hwy 67, 4.5 miles East on hwy 172, then 3 miles South
on Hwy W.  This is a 7,149 acre area with a 21 mile horse-
back riding trail.

Wilhelmina C.A.

Located in Butler and Dunlin Counties.  The main tract is in
Dunklin County North of Campbell on Hwy 53, then 4.5 miles
left on Hwy DD, then left again on County Road 203.  This is
1,437 acres with a stretch of the old St. Francis River channel.

Cape Girardeau County

Apple Creek C.A.

Roughly 20 miles North of Cape Girardeau.  To reach this
21,000 acre area, take the Fruitland exit from I-55, go 7 miles 
North on Hwy 61, then go 5 miles East on Hwy CC.  Five ponds
and a 2 mile stretch of Apple Creek provide anglers with 
roughly 15 acres of fishable water.  There are wheelchair
accessible firearms and archery range, and a 5 mile horse-
back riding trail.

Lake Girardeau C.A.

7 miles West of Jackson on Hwy 34, then 7 miles south on Hwy
U.  Watch for signs.  This 162 acre lake has a boat ramp and
fishing jetty that is accessible to wheelchairs.  The land around
the lake is mainly forested and pastureland of 351 acres.

Maintz Wildlife Preserve

North West of Jackson.  Take Hwy B North to Hwy BB.  Turn
West on Hwy BB to County Road 471.  Thirteen ponds provide
8 acres of fishable water, and the area is home to a 400 acre
demonstration farm.

Old Plantation Access

On the Whitewater River is West of Jackson on Hwy 72 and
right on County Road 385.  This 70 acre area is mainly cropland
with 1 mile of Whitewater River frontage.

Carter Creek C.A.

5 miles East of Van Buren along Hwy 60.  One  440 acre tract is 
South of the Hwy 21 and 60 junction.  The other tract is off 
Hwy 21 on County Road 21-306.

Current River C.A.

West of Ellington on Hwy 106, then 4 miles South on Hwy HH to
Cardareva Mountain.  This is a 24,181 acre area.  Parts of it
border the Current River, Carrs Creek, Paint Rock Creek and
Long Branch.  There are two overlook platforms near Blue 
Springs (a Designated Natural Area.

Peck Ranch Conservation Area

5 miles East of Winona on Hwy H and another 7 miles East on
a gravel road marked with a sing in Shannon County.  This
22,948 acre area has 119 ponds (totaling 125 acres), seven
caves and numerous springs.  Designated Natural Area include
Stegal Mountain (3,872 acres), Golden Seal (100 acres), Mule
Hollow Glade (44 acres) and Grassy Pond (1 acre).  Most of the
area is forested, and a 9,5 mile stretch of the Ozark Trail goes
through the area.  It is also equipped with a firearms range and
a public contact office.

Dunklin County

Ben Cash Memorial C.A.

And the Largent Annex are South West of Kennett on Hwy A.
This 1,422 acre area on the St. Francis River.  Natural areas
include Cash Swamp, which contains bottomland hardwood
timber and a shrubscrub swamp.

Chalk Bluff Trail Access

On the St. Francis River South of Campbell.  Take Hwy 62 
South to County Road 232.  Turn right, and travel 3 miles to
County Road 228.  Turn left and travel 1.25 miles to this 84
acre area.  It is a Civil War Battle Site.

Frisbee Cutoff Access

South of Frisbee on Hwy 25, West on County Road 410, then
.25 mile North on County Road 411, then 1 mile West on 
County Road 407.  This is 92 acres on the St. Francis River.

Hornersville Swamp C.A.

South of Caruth on Hwy 164 to the North side of the town
of Hornersville.  Watch for the cantilever sign pointing to the
left (Pecan Street).  There are five floodway ditches in this
3,381 acre area, a boat ramp and 2,851 acres of bottomland
forest.

Little River C.A. and Jerry P. Combs Lake

In Pemiscot County.  From Kennett, travel 4 miles East on Hwy
84, then turn on Hwy NN and watch for Pemiscot County Road
299.  This is a 1,036 acre area.

Warbler Woods C.A.

South East of Kennett of Hwy TT.  From TT turn west (right) and
travel .5 mile on County Road 730, then .75 mile South on 
County Road 707.  The area is composed of 80 acres of bottom-
land forest.
