Branch Trail share a trailhead, located in the the picnic area, just

   
   

west of the visitor center.  More then 60 mastodon bones were

   
   

taken from the Kimmswick Bone Bed. It is one of the most

   
   

extensive Pleistocene bone beds in the country. There is also

   
   

a museum on the site with animal artifacts, interpretive exhibits,

   
     

and a audio-visual area.
