Bull Shoals Lake 1
This lake is a 45,000 acres big and it spans across two states. A wide open lake, very deep and expansive. As a Corps of Engineers lake, it's scenic beauty is truly spectacular. A very deep lake also popular with scuba divers. Sometimes referred to as the Caribbean of the Midwest, it is Located in the heart of the Ozark Forest and a true getaway from it all lake. It's a great place for boating, skiing swimming, pwc. A light traffic lake that draws champion skiers to practice without distractions and because of it's wide open nature there is plenty of room for anyone who visits. With plenty of fresh air, breathtaking beauty and affordable accommodations, this lake is a real sleeper only because it's a little farther from the big cities. With depths up to more than 200 feet (61 m), technical divers find a opportunity to explore old settlements along the old riverbed. Recreational divers can explore the clear shallow areas, and bluffs around the lake that create rock walls with plenty of caverns and overhangs. The entire lake is open to scuba diving, most divers explore the waterways mainly by boat, and by renting houseboats from marinas on the lake. This allows a diver to explore the numerous underwater habitats. For this reason divers and boaters need to keep an eye out for each other. Diver be sure to employ a float/dive flag when conducting scuba activities.
