Located just 2 miles from Macon Missouri and with a surface area of 2,249 acres, it is a great lake for Boating,Skiing, Swimming and PWC's. This Lake is 5,000 acres. Created primarily for the for the Power Plant to act as a cooling agent, it also provides a great place to get a way from it all. Boating, Swimming, Skiing and PWC's are popular at the lake. The 5,000 acres also serve as a wildlife refuge and is run by the Missouri Dept of Conservation. One of the unique benefits of this lake, is the fact that it is used as cooling agent for the Power Plant. The water near the plant is warmer than usual in the winter providing other opportunities when you normally couldn't. A very quiet lake with when you normally couldn't. A very quiet lake with less traffic it provides something a little different than the other lakes in Missouri. The lake is surrounded by grasslands and farms and was developed by the Associated Electric Cooperative. You'll be surprised.
