Reed Area: 45 degrees, high, clear; channel catfish fair at Catclaw, Jackrabbit, & Nell on cut shad, liver, & nightcrawlers; largemouth bass fair at Catclaw, Bluestem, Plover, & Gopher fish near the weed beds & brush piles; bluegill fair on worms & crickets at all lakes; crappie excellent at all lakes with fish starting to move into the beds, try jigs & minnows under a bobber. Smithville: 42 degrees, normal, clear; catfish fair on worms & shad, slow in coves & the trimble area; crappie fair on jigs in deep water, fishing best from docks and flats right now with 10 to 12 inch crappie being caught; black bass slow; walleye slow they haven't started to move up the dam yet. Anticipate good walleye fishing in another week with the best fishing in evenings until sunrise using minnows, worms, and crankbaits; white bass slow; Smithville Lake spillway slow; Missouri River is fair with nice channel catfish & blue catfish being caught from the banks using shad.
