Canoeing

Missouri offers some great streams for canoeing giving the canoeist a peaceful and beautiful experience. Only a few of the streams are considered treacherous at spots and most are easily navigated by even the inexperienced.

Canoeing is the skill and activity of maneuvering a canoe. Canoes are among the most maneuverable of light watercraft, more agile than a rowboat or a gondola. They are also, of course, slower than rowboats such as these, and for this reason are most often used on waterways with a significant current, which lessens the disadvantages of the slower craft. Canoes are the invention primarily of the Native Americans of North America.
